Software Backups

I've done a System Recovery on XP, but need some lost data?

My laptop was acting up so I ran the system recovery disks and restored it to factory settings. One mistake though...there was a folder of pictures that I didn't mean to delete. Any chance of getting those back using a data recovery program? What about sending the hard drive off? Thanks

  1. I'm afraid not. Usually when you run the system recovery it formats the partition and then re-installs everything (the files would/should be overwritten).
  2. no before doing a recovery u need to backup ur files
  3. go to any computer store, tell them what you just tell us. they will show you a software that will undelete stuff. doesn't matter how many times you format. low level format and what not. try these: http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/collection/collid,1295-order,1-c,downloads/files.html
  4. I think there is a software called Easyrecovery Professional... Used for recovering lost files... You may give it a try... Good Luck...
  5. It's possible but not garantee. If you format your hard disk, just don't copy anything to your hard disk because this can overwrite your old files. Next you can look for one of HD recovery, I can mention EasyRecovery and there is also another that is better name GetDataBack. And on one of these softwares you can chose recover data from a formated hard disk. But I confirme that it possible but not garantee because while you installed Windows back you may overwrite your files. Just try I good luck
  6. Checkout www.freehdrepair.com Its a site i run for just such occasions. Unfortunately if your drive was FULLY formatted, there is little chance of getting it off, and also if you are still using that drive theres even less chance. But checkout the site, my contact info is on there, i may even be able to help you over the internet. Stop using the drive that you want to recover stuff off of immediately and slave it to another computer.
