How can I recover deleted files on Windows XP?

I'm on a laptop right now with Windows XP. This is my old laptop, and i used to have all kinds of files on here, such as music, videos, pictures, etc. but I deleted them all when I got my new laptop. Now my new laptop crashed, and it's away being fixed, so I was wondering how I can recover old deleted files? I know this can be done.

1. yes you can. but theres a premise: that you haven't write anything over the file you just permanently deleted yet. suppose you haven't overwrriten anything on the files you just deleted, you can get a file recovery software to recover it.
2. If you just clicked delete they should still be in your recycle bin. Go to you desktop and click recycle bin and they should be there unles you'v emptyed your bin.
