What is the best FTP backup software?

i am making an Ubuntu FTP server to backup to, and I'm not sure what the best software for backing up is. I need it to be for mac and pc, becuase i am backing up multiple computers. at least 2. having it back up to an FTP directory is a good idea. any help?
