Is there a free file scavenger /data recovery software out there?

There are so many tools that offer free trials - they entail scaning but not one of them will allow you to recover the items

2. There are a lot of free Data Recovery tools out there, the one I currently recommend using is Recuva by Piriform (Makers of CCleaner), its small and very efficient at detecting lost data, it also has a Native 64bit version, you can download it from http://www.recuva.com/ Hope this helps.
