i ran hp recovery program without back up need to get back everything lost on desktop help desperate?

evrything that was on computer screen is gone, computer restored to default screen. missing now are important folders with school and work data, must get back.cannot restore system prior to date i ran hp recovery wont let me. no back ups. surely this data is still in computer. i guess my question is how do i undo what hp system recovery has done?

1. I'm not sure what you are saying happened? The HP system recovered the computer to its original state without any file? http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/collection/collid,1295-order,1-c,downloads/files.html Those programs might help. Never used them myself.
2.
